A 15 minute walk takes you into Riverton’s township, along the estuary; you will enjoy views of the fishing boats and seabirds which feed in Jacobs’s estuary at low tide. A 15 minute walk also takes you to the seafront and some beautiful beaches for swimming and surfing.
Art Galleries, Te Hikoi Museum, gift shops, there’s plenty to do and see on the main street of Riverton. Feeling Famished?, Postmasters Bakery, First In Cafe, Mrs Clarkes and Beach House Cafe are just some of the amazing food options Riverton has to offer and there is nothing quite like Fish and chips at the sea side, Riverton has two great fish and chip shops.
Just up from the Riverton Holiday Park is Mores Reserve – beautiful bush walks taking you up high for some stunning views. The Te Araroa Trail is also on our door step, the second to last day of walking the length of NZ. These walkers have provided the inspiration to build cabins, which will be ready in January. We welcome walkers muddy boots and all. Also groups and school camps welcome.
