68 km east of Dannevirke (or about the same distance from Waipukurau) is ‘wide open space’ camping with some hedges and trees to shelter the sites. 18 powered sites are available with plenty of space for tents. At the country pub opposite you can get a take away or enjoy a beer in the garden. There is a basic kitchen for campers, with plenty of fridge space. The spacious metered showers are comfortable and a spacious new paraplegic/family bathroom has been built. The laundry has automatic equipment and a freezer. The beach is five minutes away and it’s an easy 45 minute walk to Cape Turnagain. There are tennis courts at ‘Wimbledon’ and a 9-hole golf course is next to the camp.
